Roland, Grant and Atul competed in the area contest on Thursday night. They all did exceptionally well – area contests certainly ups the ante as you’re completing against really good speakers and you feel the nerves.
Roland and Grant both gave fantastic table topics about what makes a perfect day. The competition was tough and unfortunately they didn’t place however they did themselves proud and hopefully the experience will mean they can go one better next time.
And Atul in the humorous speech contest….he came second! A truly amazing achievement.
Last year he got into the area contest but didn’t place. This year he showed it can be done – you can go one better. He learnt from last year, he reworked and improved his speech since the club contest and the effort paid off. Well done Atul!
