From Kerala to Meditation

Roland, the president, opened the meeting by describing two exciting events that are coming up in the near future. One is the HUMOROUS SPEECH AND TABLE TOPICS competition exclusively for Phoenix members, which will take place on 26 September. The other is a CLUB MEGA-MEETING that will be held on 23 January 2019, when the club will entertain guests from other clubs and lots of friends brought along by our members.

Bryan, the table topics master asked the speakers about their attitudes to DIY – do it yourself. The contributions by Jeremy, Aaron, Dave, Tom, Josh, Roland, Rekha, Ana, Ivana and Caroline ranged from always finding a competent friend to do such work to finding painting with PVA relaxing.

In the second half of the meeting Rekha delivered her icebreaker by describing Kerala, her home, as place that always looks greener than she remembers. Aaron told us about his school days and mused what a good student looks like. Josh got engaged in a best man speech and Ivana described the benefits of meditation and how one should go about it.

The best table topics award went to Ivana. Caroline was chosen as the best evaluator while Ivana also bagged award for the best speaker
